Our Story

My husband retired. I wasn't quite ready to.

His early retirement got me thinking about my own future, and before I could imagine stepping away from work, I needed a life outside of it. Pickleball, my first sport ever, was a wonderful start. But I was still looking for something more.

I'd spent years building two creative businesses on Etsy, so starting another one wasn't exactly on my list. Then I found mahjong.

I fell in love with the strategy, the community, and, unexpectedly, the tables themselves. I started imagining what the game could look like if everything around it were designed with as much beauty as the game itself. That idea became Peony & Pung. 

I'm still building it: choosing materials, refining designs, changing my mind and starting again. But I think I'm finally getting a glimpse of what this next chapter looks like.
